Project Management Office (PMO), Data Circuit Ordering, End-to-End Management
The client was undergoing a large-scale network upgrade across hundreds of geographically diverse retail locations. Internally, their teams struggled to manage the volume and complexity of circuit installations—leading to delays, miscommunication, missed install windows, and cost overruns. The existing approach lacked centralized ownership, milestone visibility, and accountability.
MTM was brought in to act as the centralized program lead for the entire circuit lifecycle—bringing together IT, billing, vendor relations, property management, and facilities under one structured project framework.
We activated a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO) tailored to telecom deployments, with the following responsibilities:
Implemented a structured approach across seven distinct phases: Identification, Quotation, Order, Scheduling, Installation, Turn-Up, and Billing.
Bridged communications between WFM departments, carriers, low-voltage vendors, property managers, and city permitting offices.
Utilized WorkWeb and later Salesforce for real-time updates, compliance logs, and milestone accountability.
Implemented proactive site access coordination, permitting resolution, and billing code accuracy verification.
Our PMO team created and maintained essential project management tools and documentation to ensure successful execution:
Developed comprehensive plans including SLA-driven timelines and responsibility matrices.
Created and maintained a Master Circuit Order Tracker, migrating from WorkWeb to Salesforce for enhanced visibility.
Established Site Access Coordination Protocols and Permit/Property Legal Escalation Playbooks.
Delivered Weekly Executive Summaries, Stakeholder Checkpoints, and Billing Accuracy Confirmation Post-Install.
